Dr Laura Phipps joins More Partnership

20 December 2021

We are delighted that campaign and communications specialist Dr Laura Phipps will join More Partnership as a Consultant Partner from 14 March 2022.

Laura joins More Partnership with extensive campaign experience, including specialist expertise in developing compelling and evidence-led propositions, and in strategic supporter engagement (from regular to major and corporate giving).

During the last decade, she has established and grown strategic public relations and communications at Alzheimer’s Research UK, one of the UK’s fastest growing medical research charities. This followed her DPhil in Cancer Biology at the University of Oxford, and a degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Sheffield.

Combining her passion for life-changing science and the supporting role of philanthropy, she led the charity’s high-performing Communications and Engagement Department. In 2019, Laura directed communications for the Dementia Revolution campaign – the most successful London Marathon charity partnership to date. She also developed Cases for Support for Alzheimer’s Research UK’s own fundraising campaigns, as well as for initiatives including the £290m UK Dementia Research Institute.

A champion for insight, Laura’s approach draws on qualitative and quantitative research to develop compelling campaigns, deepening supporter engagement and highlighting vital messages to the right people, at the right time.

Laura was part of the team that led the creation of the UK’s first volunteer register for dementia research, and her leadership throughout 2021 has been vital for a multidisciplinary research programme into the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases.

She is as adept at presenting compelling content as she is at creating it. Laura is a regular spokesperson across national media, including BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio 4 Today. In 2018, she was awarded the Women in Advertising and Communications Leadership (WACL) Future Leaders Award, and has extensive experience in designing and delivering workshops.

Laura said “I’ve had the pleasure of working with More many times in my career and have admired their depth of knowledge as well as the practical, evidence-based approach they bring to projects. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join More as a Consultant Partner, working with clients across a range of sectors to develop strategies and propositions that capture hearts and minds at every level.”

Nik Miller, Business Partner at More, said: “Laura brings both specialism and breadth of experience to our community of partners. Her ability to apply deep insights and a research-led approach in a thoughtful, practical and impactful way will be hugely valued among her colleagues – and by the many clients that she will collaborate with across sectors.”
