I love the powerful sense of community fostered by effective fundraising – a gathering of energy and ambition, a meeting of minds, a shared purpose and passion to achieve something significant together.

I came to fundraising from a background in brand building and marketing communications, and enjoy looking at the strategies and plans needed to enable real change both for an organisation and its beneficiaries. Working with national cultural institutions at major points of renewal and transformation, I learnt a lot about building a powerful case for support, about connecting the right donors with the right propositions, about inspiring leadership and engaging the full team, about getting the operational nuts and bolts right – and about the sheer joy philanthropy can bring.
