Liz Reilly joins More Partnership

19 September 2023

We’re delighted to announce that respected fundraising leader Liz Reilly will join More Partnership as a Partner on 4th December 2023.

Liz brings extensive leadership and fundraising experience, most recently as Director of Philanthropy and Donor Relations at the University of Edinburgh, where she led a high-performing team managing all university-wide fundraising programmes, including trusts and foundations, individual major gifts from the UK and globally, Supporter Engagement (broad-based fundraising), Legacies, and Donor Relations.

Liz moved to Edinburgh from Seattle, where she was Director of Development for Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest, a healthcare provider (with strong advocacy and educational programmes) serving patients in 30 clinics across three states. As chief development officer, she managed the fundraising team and worked closely with the board and its fundraising committee. While there, Liz received the national Planned Parenthood Fundraiser of the Year Award when she led a record-breaking year for fundraising.

Liz has also been a campaign director, a fundraising consultant (where she worked with educational, environmental, human rights, health care, and other organisations), and a Peace Corps Volunteer, teaching at a secondary school in Malawi.

Liz's own giving tends to focus on expanding access to education; this has also been a theme of her volunteering, including her current roles as Philanthropic Advisor to the Cowrie Scholarship Foundation and as board member on UNICEF UK's Scotland Advisory board. Liz is also actively involved with CASE: she has chaired the Spring Institute in Educational Fundraising for the past two years and she was recently honoured with a CASE Crystal Apple Award for excellence in teaching.

On joining More, Liz said, “I’ve long admired not only More’s expertise but also its approach, which I see as evidence-based and rooted in integrity, with a commitment to adding value. The best fundraisers are great listeners and the same goes for the best consultants, as they tailor their support to client needs. I look forward to working with a range of clients to help them maximise the role philanthropy can play in their success.”

Maarten Vervaat, Managing Partner at More commented: “We are thrilled that Liz is joining our community of partners. With our roots in higher education fundraising, her broad experience and purpose-driven approach will enhance our offer in this sector and beyond. We are excited to bring her talent and energy to advancing great ambitions with clients around the world.”
